The SAFe® 6.0 Lean Portfolio Management Certification course is for anyone involved in software development using the Scrum Framework. It is particularly beneficial for those within an organization, accountable for maximizing Scrum.

Course Topics

Understanding about empirical process control, scrum rules and values. Why does Scrum work? Which are the theoretical foundations and principles? How does Scrum differ from traditional software development and why is it better for product development?

How is Scrum theory implemented through time-boxes events, roles, rules, and artefacts? We will experience why Scrum framework is constructed as it is and how you as a Scrum Master can effectively use Scrum to control risks and create maximum value.

Learn accountabilities, responsibilities and skills required for each of the role within the Scrum framework to develop product using empiricism.

What is the meaning of “DONE” in Scrum and why is it important? discussion about Technical Debts. Participants have to learn the meaning of DONE increment by defining definitions in the workshop.

Learning by doing is the key factor here. Participants work in a group like real scrum teams. They learn by practicing Scrum on a live project. Small Scrum team plays roles, create artifacts to understand transparency and use events for inspection and adaptation.

Since Scrum is a process framework and to make processes work, the organization has to strive hard for resolving problems from the people and the team. There will be numerous group discussions around challenges that are faced by the majority of these organizations while adopting Scrum.

Why is change hard and what can be done to make it real? What are the organizational changes that are needed to see the benefits of Scrum?

An empowered Scrum Master can bring in positive change but change becomes difficult when the change agent is not pragmatic.

Let’s understand the advantages and disadvantages of the agile way of working. We will also have a discussion around the various models for organizational agility and ways to adopt it. The focus will be on owning a roadmap for organizational agility vs renting processes.

Most often participants wanted to know what’s the best possible tools to manage development processes so we give overviews about Jira, Trello and Azure DevOps to help them understand how and when to use these tools.

Certification Assessments

After completing the SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) training, all participants will receive access to the certification assessment. You must attempt the SAFe® LPM assessment within 30 days of receiving your free password. Successfully passing the assessment will grant you the SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) certification, validating your expertise in portfolio management.

Retake policy – You can retake the assessment immediately after your first failed attempt.  If you need to take the exam a second time, you must wait 10 days after the first retake. For a third attempt, you must wait 30 days after the second retake. All subsequent retakes require a 30-day waiting period between attempts.

FAQs

The 2-day SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management training instructed by a SAFe® Program Consultant (SPC) at Agilemania, will cost you around $2200 USD. This cost includes certification and a one-year membership to the SAFe Community Platform.

Yes, this certification needs to be renewed every year.

There are no such prerequisites to take this course. Also, it’s always recommended for those who intend to take the SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management training certification exam should be:

  • Familiar with Agile concepts and principles
  • Attended Leading SAFe or SAFe PO/PM course
  • Experience working in a SAFe environment

The SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management certification exam is an online test comprising 45 multiple-choice questions. Participants will have 90 minutes (1.5 hours) to complete the exam and must score a minimum of 35 questions right to pass (77% passing score) the SAFe® LPM exam and obtain your SAFe® Lean Portfolio Manager certification.

You can retake the assessment and each retake attempt costs $50. Second attempt on exam (first retake) can be done immediately after the first attempt. Third attempt requires a 10-day wait. Fourth attempt requires a 30-day wait.

Download and print your Certification Certificate from the Manage Profile -> Professional Development -> Certifications/Programs tab (click on the paper icon to the left of the Certification Name). Please note that when printing the certificate there can be missing logos and signatures from the certificate. If you come across this issue please make sure that “Background Colors and Images” is selected in your printing options.

Yes. The certification and evaluation fees are included in the cost of this course, along with the costs of course materials and learning aids.

The minimum score required to pass the SAFe ® LPM exam is 77% (minimum of 35 correct answers out of 45). 

The payment can be made through different options by using a debit/credit card which includes MasterCard, Visa Card, American Express, or PayPal. Acknowledgment will be issued automatically via email to the candidates once payment is done.
