Scrum.org has announced some good news for those planning on attending an upcoming Scrum.org Professional Scrum course. They have changed the retake policy around the assessments for PSM, PSD, PSPO, PSF, and SPS. Here is the announcement:

“If you attend a Scrum.org training class you will learn the importance of inspection, adaptation, and fast feedback cycles. To reinforce those concepts, if you attend the Scrum.org class and attempt the certification assessment within 14 days, but do not achieve a score of at least 85%, you will be given a 2nd attempt at no cost.” – Scrum.org

This policy update applies to the level I assessments for all courses: PSM, PSF, PSD, PSPO, and SPS. It only applies to courses taking place after 12 September 2017.

Scrum.org wants to encourage more people to take the assessments soon after the courses. In this way, attendees can better gauge their understanding of Scrum and will be encouraged to continue their post-course learning and discovery.

Attending a Professional Scrum course was already the best way to prepare for a Scrum certification through Scrum.org, and this change just makes it better.
