Agile got split into two parts in two decades. It started with Agile Software Development when the agile manifesto was written in 2001 by a group of developers. It was mostly limited to software and product development during the first decade. After the 2007-2009 financial crisis, organization leaders started exploring how to minimize risks by responding faster to changing customer priorities.
The agile way of working becomes a buzzword, especially after seeing Spotify, Netflix, and Zappos’s success. Today many more companies are moving to the agile way of working, including banks, insurance companies, and telecoms.
